Workshop Overview

The 3rd Workshop on Construction Digitalisation and Decarbonisation is held in conjunction with AUBEA 2026. This workshop brings together leaders from industry, government and academia to discuss how emerging digital technologies can support a more productive, intelligent and sustainable construction and infrastructure sector.

Following the success of the first two workshops, the 2026 event will continue to provide a forum for sharing real-world projects, emerging technologies, industry challenges and research innovations at the intersection of digitalisation and decarbonisation.

The workshop will explore developments across areas including Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital engineering, digital twins, artificial intelligence, data and automation, robotics, smart construction, embodied carbon, life-cycle assessment, sustainable infrastructure and low-carbon construction.

A particular focus will be placed on moving beyond technology demonstrations towards practical implementation and measurable industry outcomes. Speakers from industry and academia will share current projects, lessons learned and perspectives on how digital technologies can improve project delivery while supporting the transition towards net-zero construction.

The workshop will include invited presentations, industry case studies, panel discussions and networking opportunities, creating an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
